Tooth Colored Fillings.

Tooth colored composite fillings and porcelain restorations are conservative treatments developed to preserve tooth structure. As a result, a smaller portion of the tooth is removed during the filling process, which allows for a less invasive repair. Porcelain restorations can intercept potential tooth fractures and, in turn, prevent possible cold/hot/biting sensitivities. Both treatments are esthetically superior and more stable.

Bonding.

Bonding repairs minor misalignments, fractures, or tooth discoloration. It consists of adhering a tooth-colored composite to the teeth.

Tooth Whitening Treatments.

Tooth whitening, or bleaching, is one of our most popular cosmetic procedures. Numerous factors contribute to the darkening of teeth, including smoking, various foods and drinks, the effects of aging, and certain medications. A variety of whitening systems are available at Essence of Dentistry, including in-office and at-home treatments.

Snoring Elimination.

Snoring may be a result of large tonsils, a long soft palate, a large tongue, the uvula, or excess fat deposits in the throat collapsing onto and vibrating against one another as air attempts to pass through the narrow tracheal space. A custom designed oral appliance, known as a ‘snore guard’, can maintain an open airway that allows air to circulate unobstructed. It can be used alone or in combination with weight management, CPAP, or surgery. Determination of proper therapy is usually made in a joint consultation with your physician.

Children’s Dentistry.

Our unique children’s playhouse was constructed to help our young patients feel comfortable and have fun in our office. We feel that providing an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere is and important first step in preventing early childhood worries and unpleasant associations with dental care.

Dental Veneers.

Dental veneers are thin shells of custom-made porcelain that replicate the natural beauty of enamel. They are permanent restorations whose application process requires the removal of a small amount of enamel to make space for the thin shell covering. When used to straighten and close gaps between teeth, veneers are also called ‘instant orthodontics’. Coffee, tea, and red wine can stain veneers and should be avoided.

Porcelain Crowns.

Crowns, or‘ caps’, are used to safely cover and protect a tooth that has been structurally weakened by a large filling. Increasing both tooth strength and appearance, crowns are also used to repair broken teeth.

Porcelain Bridges.

Bridges are fixed partial dentures that help to fill the gap left by missing teeth. The teeth on either side of the bridged space are used as anchors to hold one or more missing teeth. Bridges prevent the shifting of remaining teeth, decrease bite stress, and conserve the shape of your face. Porcelain is fused to metal to construct a very natural looking bridge.

Dental Implants.

An alternative to conventional bridges and dentures, dental implants can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are surgically placed underneath the gum tissue and fused to the jawbone to achieve a secure fit that makes some people feel more natural and comfortable. A thorough examination of the gums and bone is necessary to find out if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants.

Gorgeous Dentures.

Dentures can also replace one ore more missing teeth. They improve appearance and health by providing support to sagging facial tissues and by enabling efficient chewing. Essence of Dentistry dentures are custom made and hand selected to match the shade and shape of the teeth to give you a fresh, natural look. Remember that, even if you wear dentures, it is important to maintain your oral health by gently brushing your gums, palate, and tongue on a daily basis.

Oral Cancer Screening.

Oral cancer screening is part of every new patient and routine dental examination. We carefully examine all areas of the mouth, including the lips, tongue, palate, gum tissues, and cheek lining. Studies have suggested that a diet high in fruits and vegetables may prevent the development of cancerous lesions in the mouth.

Soft Tissue Management.

Our gum tissues and bones deliver nutrients and structurally support our teeth. The nurturing care of regularly scheduled professional cleanings and a consistent oral hygiene regimen help prevent gum diseases and enhance the longevity of your dental restorations. At Essence of Dentistry, we utilize ultrasonic technology to thoroughly and gently clean below the gum line, minimizing the need for harsh, unpleasant scraping.
